View Full Version : show your saludas
Over the last few months there has been a large growth in Saluda users here on the forum, and Saluda has grown quite a bit as well. So I figure there needs to be a place to show off our Saluda Customs…

When I started the conversation with Jamie, I inquired about a traditional finish Mist-X. On the shipping tracking from DHD, it said 18" Prototype. Nonetheless, it sounds great...it goes well with my two other crashes 16" A Thin Crash and 17" A Medium Thin Crash and gives me a good secondary ride option.

Jamie just told me that it is a new prototype in which I have the third one from that series. It will be posted on the website in the future.
I just emailed him inquiring about trading in my other cymbals. I think I am going to keep my New Beats though. I just love those cymbals.

Oh, and check out this djembe I got. I got it as kind of a gag, but surprisingly, it sounds pretty good. it was only $50, so I couldnt really go wrong :D
Oh, adn the djembe goes well w/ my peace pipe, boomerang, digeridoo, and other misc. exotic items.

mount the up beside you rack tom since you don't got your ride placed in that spot.
right now I'm talking with saluda about maybe getting a quote to get some cymbas made.

Nice Octobans! I mounted mine to my rack with the top of a Tama Double tom stand. Works great.

Your welcome! As for a Djembe , I use the heavy duty stand that Gibralter makes. It has a base just like a cymbal stand. So If you wanted , you could just take it out of its base and mount it to your rack. The stand is on the expensive side ( $150 or so ) , but it would work.

Damn, thats expensive. I got fired a while ago, so I may just make something like the LP stand. Its just a keyboard stand with some velcro on it, and they expect me to pay 70 dollars for it.
Poor peoples solution- make your own.

I hear ya , it is expensive but it was the only thing that I found that would hold a 18in djembe securely.
Yours looks much smaller , so a smaller stand should work fine. There is also this for $39.

Mine is a lot smaller; I think its only 11 inches wide. I may pick up that stand, so thanks for the link!

Here's my 16" prototype crash, the first of its kind to be released to the public. I also have an 18" Diamond crash and 14" Mist-X rippled edge hats of which I do not have pictures at the time.
I love them all dearly, and Saluda and Jamie are great to work with.
Sorry I don't have any djembes to contribute to the thread's new subject, hahaha.

Right now, I just have 14" Mist X Dark Rock hats and an 18" Diamond China. The china is cracked though. :( I'm sending Jamie an email today to see if anything can be done. I used to have an 8" Hybrid-x Mini China and 14" Hybrid-x Crash, but I sold those (among other things) to buy my new UFIP ride and a main crash. So here's my set now with the Saluda hats and china:

I just got my saluda hi-hats on Friday. They are Mist-X's (top 1131g./Heavy bottom 1441g.)
I also ordered a 3.5" SalBal. You put it on your bottom hi-hat and it makes it sound like a sizzle hat, cool little effect.
I'll post pictures when I get home from teaching today.
