hey guys,

I want to know more about the saluda cymbals

what do the mist-x, glory, voodoo, and diamond cymbals compare to (Sabian, ZIldjian, etc.) What is the pro-series and the begginer series?

I play mostly rock, and some funk and jazz mixed in. What would be the best cymbals.

I am looking HI HATS as of now.

so, saluda hi hats. Best-Worst. Suggestions??

I currently own 14 Saluda cymbals with at least one cymbal from each of their current production lines. IMO, all of Saluda's current lines are Pro quality. They do not make beginner or intermediate cymbals. The descriptions of the general characteristics of each cymbal line on the Saluda web site will give you a point of reference for comparing to the other manufacturers products. However, I recommend emailing or calling Jamie at Saluda to discuss your requirements. He can give you guidance on what cymbal line, type, size, weight, etc suites your needs. That's what I did and I'm very happy with the results.

I emailed Jamie last night with questions about a set of cymbals I'm thinking of trading for. I didn't hear from him yet. How long does he usually take to answer emails?

Give him a couple of days. That is what it took for him to reply to me.

My cymbals are coming tomorrow. I will let you know what I think.

Does anyone know if they can do certain cymbals with another cymbals finish? For instance I have a particular sound in mind for my ride and hi-hats, and looks wise I love the Black Mist finish, but I don't think tonally those cymbals would work. Could they put that finish on the Diamond cymbal for example? I already described what I want but until he gets back to me.. :)

he can do an earthworks finish or diamond or something like that on other cymbals but i dont think that he can do the black mist just because the black mist is a raw top, but then you need to ask him i really have no idea

You can also call Jamie at 803-776-6898. You will NOT be dissapointed!

The Mist-X are "similar" to the A Customs.....they just sound more rounded, more full and brighter....you won't beleive the difference. As for the rest ...it's tough to say...the website does a pretty good job at describing their cymbals. Jamie can describe them best.

Just make sure you tell him what you're looking for and he'll get it right!

My hi-hats, are Mist Brilliant top, and Mist-X wavy bottoms....14" med top, medium heavy bottom.

As for the Black Mist finish....that's a raw finish, like Dom said...that might be tough...but, you'll never know unless you ask :)

Good luck and report back!!

Well I'll wait to see if I get an email first. Basically I'm going for drier cymbal sounds that still hold versatility and as far as the crashes goes, are reminiscent of HHXtreme crashes with a slight trash to them. Looks wise I'm going for a mix of raw/earthy looking cymbals.
