i have this 16" medium (though it feels slightly heavier than current mediums) crash...
the stamp is Zildjian Avedis, made in Turkey, no serial number.
any idea if this is vintage, what era, value?? there are not dents/cracks/keholes...
thanks!

If you have a picture of it, I may be able to tell you around what time period it is from.
But if it does say 'made in turkey', than I imagine it is pretty old.

Hmm, are you sure it says its made in Turkey? And doesn't just say "Genuine Turkish Cymbals" ?
Does it have any other Zildjian markings on it besides the stamp?

oops again, it DOES say 'genuine turkish cymbal' or something to that effect (i don't have it here, it's been stashed at my jamspace and i haven't looked at it very recently but remember that it did say that, but not have a serial#)...
no other markings besides the stamp with the above and of course the name, Zildjian. logos have been completely wiped off...
thanks for catching that dude.

Did it at one time have Zildjian logo's?
If so was the Zildjian logo on the bottom in hollow letters or solid?

Well, I`m sure that it is one Avedis from the last 50-55 years. There were made so many Avedis which looked like this...a rough theory would be: It`s from the 70īs.
Can you send a photo of the logo??
here is one pic my drum teacher`s old Avedis, also in this typical look:

Yup I have one of those...Avedis for sure. Not rare or super valuable (besides being a Zildjian) but a nice cymbal from a past era. Possibly made in Canada before they moved to Mass.?
It's a keeper, especially with no cracks or keyholing.

I'd say the topic starters cymbal is from the 70's, its hard to say without a picture of the stamp though.
