Hey all.

Me and my bandmates had a 4 hour session in a practice studio on saturday - first time we have ever done so and it was so much fun :D Far gone are the days of garage practicing, and getting told we were too loud. I had an amazing level of fun - I love to practice my drums more than anything, but to actually get out and play with other musicians in a proper studio is just awe inspiring for me. As soon as we find a singer to sing our songs then we'll be straight to a recording studio! Anyway heres the pics of my kit, my bandmates and some of our goofing around :)

Cool set, I wish i could find somewhere other than a garage to practice. Good luck finding a singer!

Yeah it was rather cheap actually - £12 each for 4 hours, or 8 hours so £20 each (prices are set for the rooms so if we get more members then prices will go down), so I think we are going to go on a fornightly (maybe even weekly when possible) basis.

Thanks for your kind words :D

When i have a house and kids, ill make sure there is a soundproof music room (ill teach my son drums at an early age, really hoping he enjoys it, and wants to start playing). Then when he has a band, or just when hes playing alone, he can have a nice, painted, air conditioned, soundproof, carpeted room, with a tv, a fridge, and mabey a couch or two. Perfect room for chilling with the band. Tv will be placed in front of the drums, so he can watch instructional videos if he wants, or so he can just drum between comercial break

im pretty much gonna spoil him rotten if he takes up the drums. but this rooms not just for him, its for me too. both our kits will be set up there, itl be a big room, mabey with a divider, so we can each play alone, or together.

anyways, enough fantisizing. cool room you got to play in, and thats a hell of a nice kit. pro m's i take it?

Yours or not, the finish looks sick

Nice set up and looks like an awesome room to jam in. but i have a similar situation... i think me and my band have found a nice place to play and record (we can record really late at night also) The only problem is it is in the basement of the pianist's house and its all concrete with no carpet. Just pure basement. What can we do to make this room recordable besides buying 100's of dollars worthe of sound boards for the walls. And we already looked into furniture for the room but we have no extra furniture to use. I though about putting matresses up against the walls and a rug on the ground. Would this work good enough.

PDP- Matresses would most definitally work, but in my opinion one for every member of the band would clear the overtones. Hanging rugs, heavyblankets and bed sheets would work well, and who doesnt have that stuff? Anything that really kinda filters the sound, nothing really solid that reflects it.

Thanks everyone for your kind words!

yeah that gorgeous Pro-M drum kit mine muahaha :D Finish is called Cherry Fade and I think its beautiful! Got it for christmas and it brings a stupid huge smile to my face every time I play it :) The snare drum offset to the left is a 12x7 cherry and maple Black Panther snare drum (which you actually get free with all Pro-M kits) - Mapex are very generous haha!
