I don't see a ton of info on here with people playing Pearl, ....but .....I think they make some really nice drums, and the Reference Series is really nice. However....their website is horrific!!!!! It's SOOOO out of date, with just miniscule peices of information!

Pearl and Ludwig websites are the worst of them all.....

Anyone agree about Pearls site? If I wanted to get a Pearl kit,...browsing their site would make me look elsewhere!!! That's just bad business if you ask me!

Thoughts?

Yep...I find it pretty bad for info. I was trying to find out the maximum height of a stool I am thinking of buying but no info on that...

Give it time. Nathan Hook the webmaster, forum administrator, and advertising guru has been under a buttload of stress trying to get the new website done. He has 400...count them...400 hundred pages to design.

it's been 'non-informative' for a long long time though....I'm sure it'll be sweet when it comes up to date, but jeeeez

Nate is a great guy but he/they needs to:

a) subcontract some of it out

b) implement dynamically driven content like from a database. If you're designing 400+ static pages then you're designing it improperly.

Can't say I find any faults with either site mentioned. Pearl and Ludwig sell a ton of gear. My experience after 10+ years in music retail is people love lists. And catalogs. Information. Free information. And that translates more times than not in you never get to see their wallet.

I'll agree...the Ludwig site is HORRIBLE! The Pearl wasn't too bad I didn't think. I just purchased a set of Session Customs SMX and they arrived two days ago. The web site was helpful in my decison to buy. Pics to come..

Would you really not buy a kit depending on a website?

The Pearl online catalogue isn't bad as far as I'm concerned. The percussion section has better pic's than LP. The Toca site isn't great either. I think they're all on a par with each other. I can't see that much difference in quality between Pearl, Tama, LP, Toca, Meinl etc.

Ludwig is terrible though.
