i may be wrong, but i am pretty sure the B8 pro is a higher line? i think price wise the b8's are more. so i assume there better/higher quality. honestly, don't buy B8's, i used to think getting 4-5 cymbals would be amazing then i tried good cymbals and i bought 2 and worked my way up, i now have a 18" K dark crash, zildjian A thin crash, A custom 20" ride 10" A custom splash etc. "go for the good stuff"
if your simply asking which is higher with no intention to buy, then disregard that statement.

First off... Here is my Suggestion.
STAY AWAY FROM B8 CYMBALS!!! no good. Been there done that.
B8 pro is a slightly better and higher quality. I would also stay away from that.
You are much better off saving up for a better pro quality cymbal such as AA, AAX, HH, HHX (Sabian),
A, A custom, K, K custom (Zildjian).
Do yourself a favor, although you did not state if you were even buying a cymbal, dont go anyware near B8.

ehh, the b8/b8pro splashes aren't that bad....
the pro line used to be the upper entry level, late 90's/early 2000's...they were the precursor to xs20's.

Pros are definately the better quality. You guys shouldnt lead him in the wrong direction, but the B8 pros are still entry level cymbals along with the B8's. The Pro cymbals are a discontinued line of cymbals that bridge the boarder to entry to pro I guess they're intermediate. As for them being replaced by Xs20's im not so ssure i know the xs20s are b20 but i always thought Pros were B8.
Penetrating. With a pitch peak rocketing up to a penetrating high, the modern sounds of PRO and PRO Sonix slice through any music. The bright, Focused Bandwidth Responses of PRO are pure, shimmering, and very definite. PRO Sonix expands on the focused pitch peak of PRO with the added tone of Extended Bandwidth Response. Sound shoots across the cymbal and off its edge for super-fast delivery and intensely penetrating projection. From Funk and Hip-Hop to Rock, Pop and more, PRO and PRO Sonix deliver the bright sounds of today's music.
-thats sabians description of this line.

If someone can't afford the B20 alloy cymbals like the AA, AAX, HH & HHX, then I would definately recommend the XS cymbals, they sound better, are made of the same alloy as the higher end cymbals and really only cost $20 or $30 more than the B8's & Pro's. That doesn't mean those aren't any good, I would definately recommend them before any low end Zildjian. Yeah they're not as durable, although I did have a B8 Pro Medium Crash when I was about 12 that lasted 2 years or so before it cracked. The Pro's are nicer sounding than the B8's and still a great cymbal for the money I think.

I would'nt recommend XS20's, I think intermediate cymbals are a waste of money. If you can't afford professional cymbals, don't spend more money on cymbals you will upgrade later. Either save and get your dream cymbals one at a time, or get low end ones and play those. Then eventually get those desried cymbals.

That's true if you're upgrading, but if it's your first set you have to start somewhere. Although buying used is always the better bet.

If your gonna go with entry level cymbals (the only excuse for this is if its your first set, and you need cymbals), then go with the Meinl MCS. These are INCREDIBLY good for the price. Its the only entry level cymbals i have played that dont sound like crap. The hi hat is actualy crisp, and not just a dull, flat sound. The crash has a wide spectrum of sounds, and sounds great. as well as the ride, which has a good bell.

Sabian Pros actually weren't a half bad product. They are made from the B8 alloy, but are heavier and sound very bright and focused, unlike B8/B8 Pros. I used to have a 20" Pro ride and 14" Pro Sonix hihats, and they sounded pretty good to me. I wish now I would have kept the 'hats and used them as X-hats, but I traded them in.:(
The Pro line has been discontinued by Sabian in favour of the XS20's, so any ones you may find are probably listed pretty cheap.
