I've seen them played a couple times. They sound really good. Pretty much another custom keller company, if that helps you any.

they seem kinda expensive. Plus Alex Rodriguez endorses them but he used a vintage gretsch kit to record the album, go figure. I dont want to sway you against them though, because they do look like nice drums.

Man, I can't believe how many companies customize drums manufactured by Keller:

Allegra, Spaun, Grover, GMS, Pork Pie, Drum Sound, Kansas City Drum Company, San Francisco Drum Company, SJC Custom Drums, Riolo Custom Drums, Saluda, probably more I'm missing.

I'm sure Keller does a great job - they build all Rodgers shells - but I personally give more props to a company that's invested in the care, knowedge and capital to make its own shells. Otherwise they're just a customizer - maybe a very good one - but not a maker.

Give credit to the companies though... they do alter the sound of the drums a LOT by using different bearing edges, plys, etc. Having just completed my first keller "build" I almost wish I hadn't gotten a set and had just made my own. =)

Im fine with keller.. good sound. I love the drums like Deathmetalconga has! i find them way to complex for punk-rock though.

I own Shine drums and DW Pacific drums, and honestly, I don't hear a difference in sound. My Pacific's are the CX Maple series. The biggest difference is one is built in America and one is built in Mexico.

It is a good investment and creates a better profile as a professional musicians/touring musician if you choose to use custom drums like Shine drums. I am happy with them because I can get custom finishes and such, but as for overall sound and quality, it's relatively equivalent to the Pacific Drums.
