My new snare!

Hey guys,

I won a little money in Vegas, so I bought me an early B-day gift!

I actually bought one, but then returned it for a Pork Pie BB. How do you like it?

I have'nt played it with my kit yet, but i've played it alot a GC in comparison to other snares.
Grant-it was not the "best" snare there, but in it's price range, it had the very best sound (sound I was lookin' for anyway) out of a couple well known competitors such as the black and gray striped Spaun, good drum.....sloppy seem on the wrap, ruins it for me. The "Chad", Love that thing, sold out at the moment. And then some pork pies, Orange acrylic "pigLite". Just was'nt feelin' it. So I went with this.
For a bronze drum in the $200 price range you can't beat it.

The "BB" is that the snare with all the holes in it? thats a nice drum, but unfortunatly they where out of it.

No, it's called The Big Brass snare from Pork Pie, it's like a Ludwig Black Beauty with tube lugs. I went with this one because it looks classy, and I wanted something that sounded like a Black Beauty without having to pay too much. I got this one for $220 out the door, the Ludwig snare like yours was about $159 at the Guitar Center here in S.A. I'ts definitely a nice snare, but I thought the throwoff was a bit cheesy with the rubber handle. Let me know how it sounds, I may still pick one up, you can never have too many snares.

I felt the same about the throw off, no big deal tho. I still have'nt had a chance to play it on my kit yet, my wife has been home sick since i got back from Vegas.

Have you tried the Ludwig snare yet? I might buy one and need some reviews, thanks.

My black beauty has tube lugs.

Really nice snare dude. I've gone on a snare binge recently. My list is up to 3 pro snares but it's going up.
