Meinl Cymbals:
Pro:
MB20 (i think a line for loud music, and aggressive playing; B20 alloy; only brilliant finish)
Byzance (allround cymbals, with a dark warm tone; B20 alloy; many different finishs; my favorites)
Soundcaster Custom (B12 alloy; only brilliant finish)
Soundcaster (B12 alloy; only regular finish)
SemiPro:
MB10 (B10 alloy)
Amun (B8 alloy)
Generation-X (different alloys)
Beginner:
Classics (B8 alloy)
MCS (B8 alloy)
Headliner (brass)
I can't describe all lines, cause i havent heard them all myself. But if you want to listen to some of them check the meinl website or see the videos of for example Benny Greb, Thomas Lang, Jason Bittner or Chris Adler here on Drummerworld. They have a mix of the Pro an the SemiPro Lines of Meinl.
Now it's always hard to relate a cymbal serie to exactly one of an other brand. There are not always equivalent series.
Perhaps the Byzance line is comparable to the Zildjian K Custom. (My Byzance Medium Thin Crash sounds really equivalent to the Zildjian K Custom Medium Thin Dark Crash)

You need to move the Gen-X cymbals up a notch - they are part of the pro line.

hmm, arnt the mb10s a pro line too? jason bittner uses a few i know that.
I was thinking about going with a mix of Mb10s and mb20s... What do you think?
14" mb10 sound waves
20" bell blast.. i like the sound of jason bittners sig ride.. i play nothing like his music
17 and 18 mb20 medium crashes
and my 18 and 20 wuhan chinas... no better china in the world.
Comments? suggestions.
I play punk and ska, all kinds of both

The MB10 are (if you look at the price) between the SoundCaster and the Amun. Probably it's personal taste if you count them to Pro or Semi-Pro Lines. I haven't heard them yet by myselve. So i can't really say. But I am shure they are not bad ;-).
I think a mix of MB20 and MB10 could be really good choice for the music you play. Just go to a store and try them out by yourselve, if you can.

SemiPro:
MB10 (B10 alloy)
Amun (B8 alloy)
Generation-X (different alloys)
Beginner:
Classics (B8 alloy)
MCS (B8 alloy)
Headliner (brass)
I'd say that Amun and Gen X are pro cymbals and Classics are semi-pro. Don't know much about Mb10 though, but based on their sound sample the 19" china is very good to me.

I would have to say Byzance are AMAZING.
Mb20 are sick too
i was on the site today and thought that maybe only the headliner and mcs are the beginners lines
and the rest are well not pro but different cus if you look nearly every drummer on there has a mixture of what u lot are saying pro and semi-pro
soooo i think that meinl just offer different sounds instead of semi-pro to pro lines
if you get me lol
tis my opinion that all...

yay! go meinl!
is it the same with you guys where its really hard to find a dealer that sells mapex or menil? i have two guitar centers and a samash near my house, and neither of them sell meinl or mapex.

Are going for a Chris Adler set-up dude. If you are please be original and re-consider your choice of products drumwise. By the way Meinl cymbals are quite possibly clearist and cleanist cymbals i have listened to. 2 thumbs up for Meinl!
the mb10s are pro and the aumns are pro to. they are like meinls approach to 2oo2s. The classics should be more simi pro and dont they have a headliner b8 and brass?

Im not really sure what the begining of your post is supposed to mean, but im no chris adler fan. and if what i understand from your post means that Chris adler playd mapex and meinl, id i didnt know that, but i really could care less (not trying to come off as a jerk.)
I like meinl because everybody and there gandma doesnt have them, like zildjian and sabian, and they sound AMAZING. Ive made up my mind about having an all meinl set up lonnnnng long ago.
Im not a mapex fanboy, but i was asking the question because for me, theres no drumshops where i can find mapex drums, or meinl cymbals. When i was in the market looking for a new kit, i was realllly looking into trying the M birch, but i couldnt find a shop locally that sells mapex kits. Same with Meinl, excluding the MCS cymbal pack at some small stores.

I recently added a 14" hi hat dry, a 20" jazz ride and a 16"medium crash all from the Byzance line to my collection. I love them too, I always played Paiste 2002, and the Byzance line is a great contrast to my 2002's.
The hi hats and the jazz ride I got from ebay, and they were both pretty good deals, the crash was a christmas present.
I will post pictures tomorrow.

Meinl or Paiste is are my choices because of their sections of bells and trashy stacks.
Other than that, They are not THAT much different from Sabian and Zildjian.
I find the Meinls to be nice and thick, im an abusive lil sob too, so they will stand up to my power.

Dude, they have allot of mapex come threw my guitar center, i noticed some times they sound better than the dws! people beat the hell out of those with huge sticks and it throws them out of tune. it all depends on how they are tuned. the mapex are pretty good drums, but you cant skimp on heads.

Mapex doesnt list guitar center as on authorized dealer on their website.
