Hey. I noticed some differences in the way this pedal looks compared to the newer dw 5000 series pedals. The biggest thing i noticed was the base of the pedals are alot bigger. Is this an older 5000 series pedal? Is this a good pedal? I havnt bought it yet but im considering it so any info about this pedal would be great. Cheers!

I don't know how old, but it looks like something's missing on the left pedal on the rod.

I believe that model is supposed to look like that.

Dont think they are quite as old as 1980 or 82 - those did not have red bottom plates or red on the linkage bar.. It was just black. I have 2 single pedals that look similar and I purchased them new probably about 10-12 years ago. The 5000 series are great pedals and were the top of the line for DW in the past. I know all the newer pedals have the double chain... but I never had a problem with a single chain.

I enjoy all of these "Can you ID this?" threads!
This is a DW double Pedal from about 1994-95 and was the first delta bearing on the hinge - I had a pair of these! Also, this has the clamp adjustment underneath the footboard which didn't change until 1996 pr 1997.
The main concern you have here is that the driveshaft (from the left pedal to the left beater assembly has been changed and the driveshafts DW manufactures have smaller receiving (female) connector.

Odd, but if that's true then cool, something different.

They look like the retro fitted plates that were offered later.............................1836

I think its the angle of the beater head blocking the rod that it is attached to, or to which it is attached, to be grammatically correct.

I use an old single DW5000 myself. It's black plate bottom and single chain. I like it better than my newer double chain Tama.

Ding..... We have a winner.
These are the same pedals I play, bought in 1994. They are the early version of the tri bearing system.

Drums 558 is right about this one. I'm actually selling the exact set-up since picking up my 9002's. I bought the pedals in question in 1995. They are great pedals, the only thing that ever broke was a spring, which I then installed the newer style.
