so i got this rogers kit when I was 9, after a year on just a snare...that was boring...anyways i inherited it later learned that it was an old rogers kit from the early 80's. Definitly not rogers high times, but they're early enough that I think they've still got that early rogers boomy mellow sound.
specs....
22" bassdrum
10 lug rogers snare...cant remember exact size look at pictures
13" tom
16" floor tom
14-15" vintage a custom hats
20" or so vintage a custum ping ride
an older 16"paiste signature crash
15" Zildjian paper thin crash with a 9" stagg dh splash on top
its a cool sound i like it why not try somethin new

The drums look yummy. I like the look of wood stain. Good setup, and although initially I was going to shake my head at the stacked crash, I listened to some recordings from your band's website and the stack doesn't sound too bad.

hah yea i know...got my snare drum when i was 7...apparently my parents walked into the local music shop saying that "she wont stop banging on things" and rented me a snare drum and found a teacher willing to teach me so young (he turned out to be incredible, couldnt be more thankful)
yea i love it...its hard to find

What a nice kit... I would love to have some vintage Zildjians of my own.
By the way, do you know exactly how old those heads are? The Remo logo looks kind of funny.

Beside the Snare: is this really Rogers?????
..the Lugs: no
...the mount: no way
???
Perhaps I'm looking too much behind: the good quality with the sensational mounts was in the 60th'ies. 80ties is no Rogers decade....

In the last picture you posted, is that another 4 or so rogers drums from the same type?

I'm not sure but you may be right and wrong at the same time, they are the Rogers name but not a true rogers kit, I remember reading on a vintage drum forum that some company, yamaha or pearl, not sure which one or maybe another bought the name in the 80's and put out mass produced kits. But by the badge that has got to be a Dynasonic snare I think but probably steel and not COB.

bernhard - i'm not sure. yes, it is really a rogers kit.....some lugs i had to get replaced, so that might be what you're seeing. I'm aware that the 80's wasn't really rogers greatest....by far...but im still incredibly happy with these drums. The snare is definitly a rogers. I got it from a friend who infinitly lent me his old 60's sling kit and he also gave me the snare...
yea, I was very lucky that they found there way into my hands. The heads are only about 2 years old, so i'm not sure.
kung_f00 - haha i appreciate it. That band was actually a couple years ago, havent seen them in ages. yea people always shake their heads at that and then they hear it and go aaaahhhhh i see...the paper thin is totally warped too cause its so thin and im not one of those gentle chick drummers...the funniest response i've ever gotten was gary chaffee...he changed his mind though

and oh yea
in the backround there are three more toms of the same kind. It was originally a 7 piece....i just dont set it up that way. At the moment I can't afford new heads and stands to set 'em up....some day.
