drums section.
sometimes this happens to me, just make sure that the bottom of the toms arnt touching the bass drum or each other. sometimes it comes for a while but goes away afterwards. i know its annoying.

Silly question...are you sure it isn't the snare buzzing? Does it stop if you turn the snare off? That's a very, very common problem, and has to do with how the drums are tuned.

Do you have a wing nut loose maybe on one of your tom locks, or maybe a cymbal stand near by. Stand in front of your drums with all other sounds off, TV radio, etc, and tap your toms to see if a bolt on a stand is loose. And as previously mentioned, turn off the snares first.

My toms used to do this but I solved it. By process of elimination, I worked out that it was one of the springsin the lugs. I took the skins off then undid all of the bolts etc that I could see on the inside. Inbetween where the spring that pushes the lugnut and the bottom of the lug, I put a small piece of felt on all of the springs and now I haven't had any rattles for about a year.
Hope this helps!

One thing you could try, if you haven't already, is take the tom to another part of your house and hit it. That way you can tell if it's the kit or something in the room that's making the buzzing noise, or if it's the tom itself.

i beleive i can tell when it's my snare buzzing...thankyou...
The buzzing is comming form the actual toms, it sounds like it must be one or more of the springs in the lugs as CBPEAVEY sujested. Thanks! i'll check it out.

I'll bet you anything it's bad tuning. Drum tuning is a whole art and science in itself. The denser the wood and the deeper the drums, the more sensitive they are to tuning and the more likely you are to get squirrely overtones. I'll also guess these are the mid-size toms, 10 to 13 inches, as bigger and smaller toms tune more easily in my experience.
Do a search for the Drum Tuning Bible.
