Hi all. Here's some pix of my kit at a recent gig. Small stage so kit looked huge. Newly re-finished 24" virgin kick (ZERO holes). Enjoy!

yeah... it's the "small stage" that makes the kit look huge. Not the fact that it's an enormous kit. Haha...

Actually, it looks like everyone in the band has ridiculous amounts of gear... 2 halfstacks, a giant bass rig, like 6 guitars hahaha Where's the Hammond organ?

seriously though, that kit looks like a million bucks, and probably sounds just as good. I had a crappy 80's rogers R360 that was probably made in japan, but even that had pretty decent sound.

Man nice vintage kit, although I'm glad I'm not your roadie, ha, ha.

Specs WOULD be good but it is all cool without em, too.
Why? Because for all the specs you would need years to tell us. Hell, so many cymbals...and drums!

stunning kit! so much to play on, the right side looks slightly over crammed with cymbals but maybe its just the angle, I would definatly enjoy playing on that beast!

Nice kit, how do you like the mounted bass drum, I've seen guys do some cool stuff with them.

Thanks for all the nice comments and I'll answer some Qs and give specs.

Yes a big Peart fan but I'm not trying to copy or emulate him, at least not on purpose. The kit just flows well to me set up like this. I could never play his toms the way he has them stair-stepped now. New bass sounds FANTASTIC!! 24x14" with Aquarian Superkick 2 set on batter and reso. Cool pounding impact and deep thump feel. Projects like crazy, says my bandmates. Great to have nothing in the bass but air! Have not felt so much bottom since my wedding night. The room was huge and I was NOT MICED-down at all... nothing... But I was still heard and felt over the PA, and we were asked to turn down by the venue!!!

OK, here goes...
toms 8x8, 10x8, standards in 12x8.5, 14x14, 15x15,
floors 16x16(2),18x16. All Remo Pinstripe heads that still hold a tune-up well.
24x14 bass, 20x14 mounted bass
14x5 Slingerland brass snare, 14x6.5 Rogers Dynasonic on stand-by alert.
Cymbals. Too many?... impossible!
Sabian 8,10,14
Zildjian 14 New beat Hats, 16 Crash/ride, 18 med Crash, 18 Rude China
Paiste 18 Med Crash, 18 Heavy Crash (Used to be black "Color-Sounds" but I stripped the paint off and found virgin 2002 formula brass!), 20 Ride, 22 riveted china... OUCH!
Wuhan 18
Tama pedals, Pacific Super Rack, Yamaha Tom holders, Gibralter and DW booms (soon to be all DWs)

... Yes, I do feel older, but Drummer Karl is happy and that's OK with me!

It is SOOOOOO much fun to play! Not cramped at all for me. At 6' 2" tall, I can get my left hand to the right side of the kit easily and I don't need to look at them to know where they are to hit them with my right. Can even do upwards crashes!

Nice kit, how do you like the mounted bass drum, I've seen guys do some cool stuff with them.

Love that boomer on the right side to ride for the Metallica stuff and song endings and whenever I get the urge to bottom out!

Thanks again all!!
Cheers!

Sorry Karl. I left off the 16 "Wuhan sandwich just below the ride. (Two 16s on a remote closed hat. Really CUTS!)
Also Meinl and LP cowbells, and a RythemTech Mounted Tambourine.

That about does it. I like to paint with many colors.
