I kinda feel intimidated posting my stuff here as there are lots of incredible players here, but here are some vids:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSPtSkuH3Rk

Samba/Songo hand pattern over various patterns on the pedals. There is work to be done on the feel and dynamics, but I figured I would post it anyways. I'm sure you metal fans out there will recognize the last pattern.

A random solo without any form, its just a bunch of random ideas that I tried to get out when I turned the camera on, I froze up a couple times during the recording but I wanted it to be a one off thing. Hope that some good ideas came through my playing! Enjoy!

If for some reason you enjoyed any of that, I've got some more videos, they can all be found here:

That samba ostinato was kickin'! Definitely had me groovin' in my seat.. gave me some good ideas, too. The random solo was alright.. I'm not really a fan of formless solos, I'm more a fan of consistent grooves, but I still thought it was good. I know how it is to freeze up, and I remember during a performance I was supposed to have a eight-bar solo (think 32 measures) and halfway through I messed up.. so I just played quarter notes on the cowbell until I figured out how to come back in. Can't sweat stuff like that too much.. and like most drummers will tell you.. the number of mistakes made is proportionate to how much you think about playing while playing. It's best to keep your mind a blank slate.

Thanks! I also enjoy a more consistent solo but I wanted to get a new video up on the net quickly so I just improvised. I'm living in an apartment for school right now so I can only play on rubbery pads and stuff right now which kinda sucks, but its better than not practising at all! I recorded those two videos at christmas when I was back at home.

The samba was SWEET. What colorful playing with the bell and the cowbell.
Ahh how I wish I could play different styles.
