I searching for nice hi hats- I have already new paiste traditional flat ride and it's almost only for jazz siuations, thing is that I want to get hi hat which is also good for funk. One idea I guess is 15'' Paiste trad. they're enough loud also for funk, but it's big maybe sound won't be focused and they're quiet pricey... of course there is also K zildjians or A new beat...
What do you think...?

Look into the Sabain HH line. I have HH Bright Hats and they're really good for jazz. They cut through very nicely but never too loud and they work really well in funk situations.

14" K zildjians for sure. I own them and will never own another Hi Hat ever.

Abe, a friend of mine had 13" trads and they were inverting themselves left and right, until they finally cracked. Just understand that most every model in the Traditional line is relatively thin (even by Paiste standards) and they are to be treated with a certain amount of delicacy. If you want some funky hi hats that you can lay into once in a while, I'd say stay away from trads unless you buy a model with a "med-thin" or thicker weight to them. I'd say look into Paiste's Signature line if you wanna stay with that company, or check out almost any K model from Zildjian or HH from Sabian. (the HHX groove hats are pretty sweet)

Exactly what I was thinking. Those are the picture of Funk-Jazz Hats.

This might be a good way to go. And if they are too dark, you might be able to substitute a New Beat Top or Bottom.

...and what do you think just about New Beat line?

Rather than New Beats, I would suggest Quick Beats. In my opinion, I think Quick Beats are better for funk/hip-hop/RnB than New Beats. Go to the zildjian website and listen to the difference between them, maybe you'll see what I mean.

i have a pair of new beats and i love them...I use them for jazz, rock, and funk. They are very versitle and brighter than the ks.

I have the quick beats aswell and I don't like them much. They are good for funk, rnb, hip hop and all that, but for rock I wouldn't use them, whereas with the Zildjian K's and the Zildjian New Beats, you can use those hats for ANYTHING and it will sound good. Definitely get one of the two if you want versatility.
