Yamaha Brass Nouveau Snare with Power Center Reverse Dot over Hazy 300. Pearl stands and rack, Iron Cobra hat stand, Eliminator Double pedal. Soon I will order a second bass drum and an 8x7 rack, and will probably put my 12x9 off to the left, behind my hats. Then my monster will be complete, with the addition of new pedals (still undecided). Sorry, I got bored and really excited about my kit and went way overboard with this cymbal post. Sorry :/

And yes, you saw right Planet Z. I have a pair and they're quite nice, exceptionally bright but very crisp and I don't see ANY reason to replace them, especially considering how much hi-hats go for.
Unless they break, and then I might look at Paragons or something along those lines.

Hi everyone

First post on here (other than in the intro forum some time ago).

I went out and bought my dream cymbal set up just yesterday after using some Stagg cymbals for a while. I got:

Paiste 2002 14" sound edge hi hats, 16" and 18" medium crashes and a 20" cool ride. I am more than happy! When I played years ago as a youngster I always used Paiste so it's nice going back to them.

Added to my 16" Zidjian oriental trash and a Stagg 9" splash (which sounds really good) I'm now done cymbal wise.

Next purchase will be some nice DW shells to replace my Mapex VX.

All very true. But if you mention B8s, ZBT, ZHT, PST3, or the like, in a "dream cymbal set up" thread you will be questioned.

They include a 20" HH Manhattan,(pre hhx), 14" HH dark hats, 16" HH thin crash, 17" HHXtreme crash, and an 18" AA fast china.

I have been on a bit of a smack-a-thon lately and I have been hearing a lot of really nice sounding cymbals from all makes.

I may end up getting rid of my clunkers and picking up something exotic.

I bought the 6" splash and 18" med crash to go with the rented set of B8 pros in Afghan land, the next week I bought a new drum set from a guy that was leaving. So I figured "new set, New Cymbals" I threw those in there cause their new to me, but 1 day after getting them, I replaced the splash and crash with........

The B8 pro line is "OK" but not for me!!

Everyone seems to hate b8s but me! I love them. I used them on my old yamaha stage custom and i've got some more for my new mapex kit. Admittedly they are far from the best, but they're the perfect cymbals for people like me who have a relatively small budget but want a decent sound. The only b8 i'm not so keen on is the 20 ride; a bit sizzly. But the 16 thin crash is nice!

That'd be nice. I do like my all A Custom setup, but the hihats are extremely loud, and the ride bell is very bright and cutting (almost painfully so).
