How about a Genera Dry. That would give it the kind of Firecracker pop type sound. A little extra volume, with a single ply. Try it out.
Edit: Happy 1000th.

I'll look around. I have a directory of music stores in my favorites folder... I'll find one.

Thanks mate you are the greatest... if you happen to find any other evans that would give me a good snare sound... link me to that also. thanks mate.

Ok, figured it would be good to see if they actually make that size, and no, Evans does not make the Genera dry in a 10". They do make these models:
G1 Coated
EC Snare
EC Snare Reverse Dot.
Power Center Reverse Dot
J1 Etched
G2 Coated
I think that's it.
I'd be interested to hear how the J1 works, as well as either of the ECs. They should be available anywhere. It's much easier to find heads when they exist...

That's what I'd like to hear. The ECs are hot and new, although I'd probably reccomend a single ply head.

I am using a g1 for my 10'' mapex snare. Works great! You should try that out!

uhh, will do... i tried remo on it before, for some reason it just choked it up to much. thats why i hadn't been using it. i switched to remo because of quality issues and i love it! so i thought i would give it another shot.
thanks mate.

I currently use a Evans G2 on my Pork Pie 10x6 snare. It sounds wonderful. A G1 would also be a good choice if your not a heavy hitter.
