The name of that kind is (and not limited to only Zildjian cymbals) a: Flat top ride.
And you have a lot of Zildjian's of them.. so without the series we cannot really tell.. you have A-custom flat top ride / K-custom flat top ride..

Sounds like a K zildjian flat ride. They tend to have short sustain, quite dry, due to the lack of bell. They're great for Jazz, wouldn't recomend for rock though.

He didn't tell anything about how it sounded.. so it could be a A custom aswell ;)

hard to describe cymbal sounds through text :)
i want a ride that has a definate 'PING' to it but not a thrashy one. clear crisp and loud.
for example we cover 'Riverboat Song' by Ocean colour scene.
and it had a smooth(ish) very shiny surface - light coloured (not like bronze)
I got Paiste Traditional Flat ride and I love it it's dry not too trashy great stick articulation!

sound of flat Rides is pretty dry but anyway: sizzling and sparkling, a great effect, cool sound especially when playing with jazz piano I love those most.
hope this helps a bit...

karl you are the man. I have never used a flat ride. but 2 of my bands songs use bell ALOT. as the defining sound in the song. so i cant use one.
Maybe with some jazz they would sound awesome!
