I'm looking to get a new set of 13" hats. My buget allows me to get anything in the sabian AA/AAX. I play mostly Jazz, Funk and Rock, so i want something that will work for all those styles. Anyone got any suggestions? Im replacing my 14" AAX stage hats as i find them a bit overpowering.
thanks alot

It maybe sound weird but I know that a lot of sabian endorsee that play funk/fusion/jazz/rock use the AA 14" regular hats mostly because of their versatility.

I am not a great lover of the stage hats either.. i would suggest to try some 13" AAX Fusion hats.....or some 2002's..

13" hats? Hmmmmmm I'd say the HHX Evolution hats. They are very nice hats.
Although hard to get hold of, and slightly (!) expensive, if u want the difinitive funky hats the UFIP bionic series are the way to go. ;)

I would suggest 13 inch HHX groove hats. They fit the mold of jazz and funk perfectly, and are definatley verstile enough to be used in rock. I play mostly rock and I was thinking about getting these. Those are a little more than AA/AAX, but from those lines I'd check out the AA fusions.

How much I agree on that!!...I`ve got the 14" version...they are amazing, crisp, kinda bright and dark basic tone(s). Very cool hats, very unique.
If that is too expencive I`d like to recommend an AAX 13" Fusion Hi-hat, it is cutting, very high-pitched and so clean!!
but anyway go to a shop and try them in person...
