Just looking at the pictures I would say the e-kit was the performance kit. What kind of cpu/module/brain or whatever you call it do you have on it? TD-20? I like the dual bass pads on it as well. The fan is the best part. Everyone needs one of those.. :)

Wow that first pic looks insane. Whats awsome about that is that you could use that as a performance set even though its electric and not look stupid considering it looks like a normal set of drums. Im crazy jealous.

you must have about everything except the kitchen sink on those kits (but for $150 i bet you could add one)! those kits are amazing- hope you have some roadies or a drum tech to help you set those up- they're huge!
got any recordings from either kit?

Yeah, the e-kit doesn't move - I'm running it with a TD-7, TD-8, TD-10, and a DM5. The cymbals are the plastic type and are very cool. Their on springs and feel like a regular cymbals. Thanks everyone. Here are some above photos of both.

How do those plastic e-cymbals work out? Are they appropriately sized, do they have good rebound or do they make you work harder? Although I've never owned an e-kit, I've always had an issue with the sizing of e-drums and cymbals because of the much more narrow diameters and response.

Wow. Two AMAZING kits. The e-kit sorta reminds me of Terry Bozzio, probably because of the way you've got the cymbals set up (which isn't a bad thing at all, especially on that kit). The acoustic kit is beautiful as well. It's not too common to see a double bass DW kit around! I'd be wicked proud if I was the owner of those!

I really like the e-cymbals - They're considerably lighter that a real cymbal, but with the springs you get used to it. The size really doesn't matter as far as sound goes...You can make a 6" splash sound like a gong if you like. With the modules I'm using, you have somewhere in the area of 1,200 sounds per pad with hundreds of different cymbal sounds. They also have choke control so when you grab them, the sound stops like a real cymbal. With the right tweaking, you can do swells, etc. As far as response on the drum heads, they're a little spongy but far better that the old rubber e-drums they used to make. When I switch over from electrics to acoustics, it takes a song or two to get re-adjusted to the different feel. But that's a small price to pay considering the only time I get for personal rehearsal is around 6 in the morning and I can really jam without my girlfriend or kids in the next room even hearing me. The e-kit with the PA and Roland speakers set me back about $12,000.

i actually play a DW myself, but not in the condition of yours.
as for the elec kit, even Marco Minnemann would be envious of that kit.

i bet you have loads of fun with that lot.....however, if you dont i know a good home for them...

Thanks...The group I'm was with was called Slowvein. For years we worked with the same booking agent that did a lot of 80's bands like Ratt, Warrant, Tesla, etc. We were booked constantly opening for these groups throughout the midwest, and that's where a lot of these photos were taken. It was a very profitable time in my life.
