A best friend of mine has the Groove ride and I love its sound. It has a HUGE crash tone that sounds awesome on recordings. Congrats!

Yea, I'm a jazz/fusion man myself, the HHX is an absolute beast when it comes to crashing.

nice kit man, nice kit. how does that B/B sound? I have the Birch Performers, and I loove them. I also know that pictures don't do those sparkle fade finishes justice (I have the red sparkle fade).....so I'm sure that it is amazing!

The mix of birch and bubinga is GREAT! (http://www.tamadrum.co.jp/world/products/drum_kit/starclassic_pbb/shell.html)! It has the great natural tone of the birch with the added low end punch and warmth of bubinga. Kind of like a super maple (lol). Yea those pictures are quite bad, when the weather gets better I'm setting up a outdoor shoot, the sparkle fade really is amazing. I wonder how different the B/B sounds to the 100% birch?

Congrats for you new kit and welcome in the TAMA family. It's an awesome kit and I like the size too. SCP B/B will soon be "The kit", it sound really nice, for those wanting to hear them, I invite you to hear Spanky on the SCP B/B from TAMA Bubinga party... http://www.tamadrum.co.jp/japan/news/bubinga_party/high/spanky.html

I've always dug that fade. Nice kit.
Quick question.....
How do you like that stand your toms are mounted on? I'm thinking of getting one for my double bass kit to hold up the two middle toms. How useful is it for lowering the toms without making them tip?

Sweet kit...i love tama kits and this one makes we want one even more

Broken Glass... The Tom stand is a HTW739W Roadpro Ddouble Tom Stand, and its great! The whole thing is actually able to tilt, or 'stilt' as they put it. Its very sturdy and as you can see I have my tom's quite low and it is still solid. I imagine for a double bass kit you could just mount the toms flat then tilt the stand between the two kick's to your desired height, hope this helps!

Probably never. It's just a series that is available to other markets. This happens all the time especially with Yamaha. Here in Canada we had the Yamaha Maple Custom Definitive series which were a wrapped kit, rounded over edges, at a lower cost. These weren't available to the US.
Look at Pearl Japan vs Pearl USA. They have carbon fiber masters kits, where as you can only get carbon fiber in the Masterworks line when ordering from the US. Same goes with the acrylic snares Pearl Japan can get, but Pearl USA/Canada can't get.

Thatīs a great looking kit. I just got myself a SCP B/B in the White Silk finish. These are awesome drums. I used to have a Brady kit before the Tama and this kit is every bit as good. Itīs sooo punchy and warm, and the Bubinga delivers gorgeous growling lows. The bass durm is an absolute monster.
Congrats on the kit! Itīs a beautifull finish.
