View Full Version : 22" Istanbul Agop Prototype Ride

Here's an Istanbul Agop Special Edition Jazz prototype ride I acquired in a recent trade. It's lathed differently than a regular SE on the bottom, is more heavily hammered, has a smaller and higher bell, and a pronounced edge flange. It's 2671 grams, and has a clean, somewhat bright stick over the trashiest undercurrent I've heard in an Agop......

Nice one...I love the look...how does it sound? Pingy or rather washy...and what weight is it? and how thick?
I`m very curious as you can read...haha...anyway, that is definitly a beautiful Ride cymbal!

It's 2671 grams (Drummer Karl, you didn't READ my post, brother).

When I try to upload the sound file to supload, it plays back at double speed. If I can figure it out, I'll post a link.

I traded a 22" Agop '06 Limited Edition for the prototype plus a 20", 1617g Agop Special Edition Jazz ride.

yeah, was a stupid question with the sound, you decribed it right there.
But just wanted to know what weight it is (thin, medium etc.)

Also just received an Agop (21" Mel Lewis Ride, 2134g and thin) yesterday. Some awesome cymbals they make!
