This is not the greatest cover of Tool, so I can't say its great. lol.
I'm playing Mapex M Series drums and Sabian AAX cymbals...

Also, I knows its a little off beat. I had trouble hearing the music.

Not bad. I would suggest though relaxing a bit more, you look tense in the video Something about your left hand and your right hand when it's on the hi-hat doesn't look right to me.
How did you record the video and then sync up with the music?

You have a good feel and sense of time. Nice job!
The only thing I would say...your left hand. It is rigid. This will completely ruin any chance at speed in the future. Practice using your arm in conjunction with your wrist and fingers...not only will you notice an improvement in your speed, but also you won't have to work as hard to get the same notes as you did before.
Trust me, I had the same problem. =D

That was pretty good, man.
I think you should use more of a wrist motion, because it looks as though you're executing the stroke with your entire arm. Also, you're hanging on to the back end of the stick which can lead to problems. Move your hand up a bit more, and also make sure your fingers are wrapped around the stick and you'll be set.

Thanks for the comments guys. A lot of people are telling about my arms and wrists and stuff and I really need to practice and to loosen up also.
Oh and fourstringdrums, I just sync'd the music with my playing in WMM, thats another reason why it might be a little off cuz I didn't line it up right with my playing.

That was not bad for a tool cover. Um, do you like officially know rudiments? Because those intro fills, the big ones, are definitely rudimentally based when carrey plays them and you just kind do single strokes as fast as you can over your kit. I dont know if you were actually going for the same fill he plays, but I would learn the open tap six roll or the paradiddlediddle and it will come to together for you. That wasnt bad though. Nice job.

I pretty much have the same comments. Loosen up. Watch a ?ustlove video (if you can find one). He is very loose. Most of his action comes from his wrist. Use the molar whip.

You should also take each "section" of the song and internalize it so you really know it well. For example, the hi hat pattern in the versus, if i remember correctly, doesn't break, it is steady.......just a side note too, the intro fill utilizes double strokes....learn these, and learn to use rebound, short and long rolls(open) will help give your playing more of Danny's sound! Relax and let physics do the work!
