Yeah, I recently got the Modern Drummer 2005 DVD, and I loved his set up, so I tried it out. I dunno how long I'm going to keep it like that, though, because I miss my 16" floor tom over there...so I may go back to my standard 8" and 10" toms up top and 14" and 16" toms on the bottom.
And Jojo is becoming one of my favorite drummers. I'm working on some of his techniques (the Derrick Pope finger thing) and the Buddy Rich thing to get some of that crazy speed he's got. We'll see. =/

I liked it a lot. You look so relaxed and that makes your playing rock out!!
Thats all i got pretty much it was all in all a solid solo.
but...like always try adding dynamics to keep your audience. Its a tip i tell everyone so dont take it like i thought you sucked. Because you definitally didnt.
love those cymbals.

great playing, love your "jojo-esque" setup! Lovely wee gretsch kit too... there are parts of the solo that could be tightened up a bit, but its still brilliant :)!

Yeah, your grooving is pretty good! Just keep up practicing and just play mate! You have feeling...keep it up!
PS: Your set-up looks so comfortable...JoJo Mayer knows that, too... ;-)

Yeah, I really liked playing that Jojo setup...but it was weird not having my china over on my right or my 16" floor tom. I went back to my standard set up again.

That was some pretty nice playing. There were times when your grooves put me on edge though, like i wasnt sure if youd be able to keep it in time, like there were some things that you just need to lock tighter into their positions within the groove. I liked it a lot though.
Like someone else said, dynamics are a great tool. I was just watching the new thomas lang dvd and he was saying drummers have two things: rhythm and dynamics, and having rhythm without dynamics can take away from the overall sound of your playing.
Very nice work on your fills, they had funk flavorings but were at the same time powerful and really well-suited to your grooves that you were laying down. I liked the one especially where you did the RLK triplet pattern down your toms. I thought overall it was a nice solo. Good job, keep it up.

Yeah man, I know what you mean about the groove falling apart. I've watched this thing about 15 times to kinda pick it apart myself...and something I'm noticing is spacing. My timing and spacing seems kinda rushed at certain points. Something I need to work on, for sure.
I'm SO going to put up another video that I record with a click and see what kind of difference I can get...

It's a pretty solid video from what I can hear.
I haven't read any other feedback for bias purposes... Anyways, click would always be nice, but also a groove in a different time signature(s). Spice up your playing with different times dude, you'll rock out even more.
