From what i've heard, the Sonor is better quality.
I have heard that pdp have some issues with bearing edges and quality control, and sonor have overall a better reputation as a company.
Here is a force 3001 on ebay, which is a similar but older model, with an inner ply of basswood in the shells but not much else different.

The 3001 system has the older intrusive tom mounts, as opposed to isolation mounts but to my ears they make little 'real' difference.
Of the two it's a bit of a no brainer for me. The Sonors without a question, I've never seen quality issues with any Sonor kits, but I know I've heard of plenty with the PDP lines.

For fit, finish and overall quailty, Sonor.

I've played both. I'd go with Sonor.

I own a Sonor although not a 3005 in fact mine is a 3003 which costs alot less than the 3005 and have had no problems with it in the year I have owned it. Zero, none zilch,

My experience so far with my Sonor Force 3003 kit has been fantastic. Great hardware, great finish at a great price. The 3005 should be the same with a warmer all Maple sound, the price is still great for all Maple. Go Sonor

Although I'm not a huge fan of Sonor, there is no comparison between PDP and Sonor. The Sonor is much better than any PDP there is. The quality is much higher because the PDP kits are, from what I have seen and heard, cheaply made.

I own a PDP and have no problems with it. My drums sound fine and the hardware holds up. I have heard good things about sonor and their finishes are stunning.
I think you will be happy with either one.
just my 2 cents

Sorry I'm confused...how is a Force 2005 6 years old?
For the record, I have the Force 3005, and I absolutley love it. I wouldn't buy anything else in the same price range.
