Hey Guys,

I haven't been around in a while. I've been away from the drums for a bit too because I've been dealing with possible Carpal Tunnel Syndrome due to my job. I finally got a decent amount of time to play today and I thought I'd post a new video I made. It's just a mix of various grooves that that transition to one another.

All comments welcome!

Cool grooves, I liked the "Tool" style hi-hat stuff you had going on there, and the ride patterns gave it some nice variety. The snare sounds pretty sweet in that room, from what I can tell........nice playing!

Sounds good man. The shuffle will always make me smile, and I liked the bell patterns on your ride. Nice work!

Thanks :) The first and last groove are my takes on ones that Benny Greb does in that Groove Video on DW.

nice playing, iv never done a shuffle before.. i should try it out...

but that crash seems a little deep.. is a 18 or 19 inch power crash??

you should mix in a 14 or 16 inch crash with your set, better range of sounds.

overall nicely done.

sincerely,
dave

It's a 19" Sabian HHXtreme Crash. I kind of like simple setups and this crash blends really well with the ride and vice versa. I may add a 17" or an 18" at some point in the future though.

good playing my man. I really like your shuffle mate...and this drum sound!

Cool grooves. especially the last one, reminds me a bit of Benny Greb`s grooving video then. ;-)

keep it up and good luck!

Your grooves are nice and...tasty!!! <(what the word came to mind OK?)

my only critique is your transitions. But everything else was pretty SWEET.

Thanks. The transitions were done with video editing, I didn't actually play all the grooves together.

Thanks. The shuffle is one of the grooves that I enjoy doing most. Actually the first and the last groove was Benny inspired, although it'll be a while until I can do it with his feel for sure :)
