Nice. Mapex are making the Saturn an even more appealing kit by giving it some hardware off the Orion kits (bass claws and stuff), putting real Emperor heads, adding more available finishes, more kit configurations, and an add-on pack for the rock kit (24, 13, 16, 14 snare) that includes a 10" rack tom and another 24" kick. The guys at Mapex are doing their jobs bloody well.

I just ordered my m-birch, the new crossover kit looks like a nice setup, shame i didnt wait till 2007.

wow i just ordered a saturn....i wish i had waited now. as long as the sound isn't any different then i guess it doesn't matter too much.

This is one of the many reasons why next year when I buy a new set, I'm going with Mapex.


Now I just need to decide between the Saturn or the Orion.

What finish did you get? I bought an M Birch back in September and I think it is a great kit. I am very happy I went with Mapex!! Good luck with your new kit and please post pics when you get it.
