This is a very, very short video demo I put together a few months ago which I stumbled upon yesterday. It has better camera angles, with a much more better view of my hands and my right hand grip. The audio is not that good, so please bear with it, thanx!

Yeah, that last clip was from a TV series called 'Blast Off', a reality tv band competition. Unfortunately, my band didn't get very far.

I have to say, you've got pretty badass technique for five years in, you've obviously put in a lot of hard work!

Hey that was pretty awesome. Nice vids on Youtube!! I love your feel for the drums and when I`ve seen the video with the vamp and the soloing to it I could notice that your dynamics and creativity is really not bad!
The only thing I could tell you...Maybe try to play a steady step hi-hat with grooves in the refrain for example. If you play e.g. the hi-hat steady with the foot on quarter notes with the groove it really gives a nice push to it. Or play it on 2 and for, pushes it. Just some advice...

I actually write with my right hand, but I always play the drums leading with my left!

The drumset in the first clip is actually a Tama Stagestar, the entry level kits from Tama. The head on the snare I used was the default head, nothing fancy really. I bet its a single ply head.

I watched the videos from both this post and your other one, but Ill just comment in this one to save space and time. Let me say first of all you play very well and especially for only five years. One thing I did notice was that you seem to be playing some roll combinations in the other set of videos that are a little bit too difficult for the tempo at times. It seems like your sticks are getting ahead of your hands and you are dropping some notes taking away from the fluidity of the roll. If you can even that up more, you can even play a little slower, but the smoothness will actually give the impression of more speed in your playing. I thought over all it was nice playing. Keep it up.

Thanx for the detailed observation! I noticed that as well as I was playing, you can even see it in my face, if you noticed. Smoothness and fluidity is something I'm striving to acheive, its an ongoing process that I go through everyday.Comments like yours will definitely help me to become a better drummer, thanks again!
