Well Done, Jon! You don't have to play like Weckl(traditional grip), to learn his songs, so whatever Latin Groover says is mute. You still sound like Weckl, as far as this song goes, and you certaintly have a smooth style of playing like DW. Nice job! Hope to hear and see more of you in the near future. Hey, is that your band - Downplay? Where are you guys located? Close to the east coast, at all? Have you all done any recording? I'd love to hear something from Downplay! Good Luck...and do...Play On! ;-)

I'd really like to check some of that stuff out, but I think I am too busy (and lazy) to transcribe it myself - so if you can help me out here, it would be great.

Wow..Thanks man.. I think these videos really show that I have no life! ..lol.. transcribe?... nah... not really.. just listening a million times to these tunes at home , in my car, etc. ..
a couple vids were using weckl's In Session cd like Big B, Rhythm Dance, Acces Denied... the rest , along with the Rush vids were played along to the original tracks.
..no biggie. As far as my original stuff..yea... my band is recording right now.. on my link you'll see a video clip of a little studio stuff.. one of our original tunes.. just the raw drums through a camera phone..ha..

Obi-Wan Jon, you are smokin'. The Force is definitely with you. You gotta love those little treasures you come across in the music stores. I had a 14" Wuhan on a previous kit and I loved the sound. Just that right trashy sound to it. Your vids of the Rush material (especially the Tribute to Master Neil) was incredible (you understand, I hate you..lol!!!). Keep it up man.
