Hi All,

Can those who own DW's comment on the sound of these two kick's is it a big difference in low end sound, 16" vs. 18" deep?

Thanks Much!

Don't own a DW myself, but you need to be more specific if you want an answer.

What diameter?

What wood?

How thick?

That should let the guys who own them help you more.

Yeah O.K.

22" x 16" vs 22" x 18"

Maple

What ever thickness most popular in DW collectors.

Thx

18 is a bit lower, but you will get more focused tuning and feel with a 16....I'd go 16 myself.

i like the feel of a deeper kick...and i love the sound of the low DW kicks so Id say go for 18''.

you're going to get more low end in an 18" deep, no question, however, comparing them side by side would you be able to tell....probably not. Go to Guitar Center and play an 18" deep bass.....I think you'll like it!!

I have a 22"x18". Can't fault it.

What music do you play? If it's heavier stuff or strong back beat music then the 18" is cool because it rumbles. If you are flitting between various styles including lighter genres, go for the 16" because I think it would be more versatile than the 18". The 16" will provide a decent amount of depth anyway due to the 'Built-in Bottom' feature on all DW bass drums/floor toms (i.e. vertical inner ply). I believe this is a significant feature, other's probably don't!
