I am going to buy a new drumset. I was wondering what you would advise me to get. My options are: Ludwig Accent CS Power Series with Zildgan Cymbals, Pearl Export EXR Series with Zildgan Cymbals, or a Mapex VX Plasma Standard with Chin-Dal Cymbals.
I'd also like to know more about Chin-Dal cymbals... does anyone know about them?

Have you looked at the Gretsch sets? The Catalinas are in the price range and sound nice. How about some Zildjian Custom A's?

Also, Check out the Yamaha drum kits. They are a great bang for your buck. Great hardware and great sound. The Stage custom would be in your price range!

Are your options based on price? If so, what is your budget, if you don't mind letting us know. It could make recommendations easier.

If your choices are not based on price, what are your criteria?

They are based on price, I am trying to get cymbals and a drumset and dumset bags for $750-$800, that is my price range.

Might I suggest adding heads in that list as well. I would look into buying used for the drums and cymbals. Often times on ebay sellers list drums, cymbals and hardware all together for some great deals.

be sure to do a little research on the products at hand, and remember that you will be more satisfied with a halfway-decent kit (whose sound can be greatly altered for the better with new heads) and high-quality cybals than you will with a great set and crummy cymbals.

thanks, ok so if I add heads then my options go down a little bit... I was hoping to get nice drums and nice cymbals and then upgrade the heads once I get the money.

Hey...okay, for your price range I`d seriously look into Tama stuff (Superstar line: the best line in this price range I`ve ever heard) or yeah: Yamaha. Maybe check out the Stage Custom or the Stage Custom Advantage, the Advantage line is a bit more expencive though. Just a few ideas...
