I am beginning ordering a new custom drum set at the first of next year and I am going to get all new cymbals too. ( the ZXTs have got to go lol)

I am going to a bunch of music shops this weekend and I was just wondering if anyone had some ideas on a few to keep in mind.

My band plays heavy pop rock and we are beginning to move toward hardcore/light metal. Any suggestions for this style?

Paiste 2002's are extremely versatile when used in almost ANY "rock" oriented tunes. From pop to metal easily.

don't pick cymbals for genre, pick cymbals for the sound you like. go to the shop and turn you back, have a friend play every single cymbal in there, and pick which ones you like out of those, still with your back turned, then keep doing that untill you have narrowed it down.

I have to second that, but "goalieman92" is right too, buy the ones you, like try out as many as you can. I play mostly 2002 's and I love them, but you might not, so check them out but keep an open mind torwards your purchase.

I stand corrected. You can play lots of cymbals with lots of genres. I just happen to be a bit slanted towards Paiste. Play any cymbal you like.

Paiste 2002's.

Agreed.
Overall I mean, we just wanna give you some opinions and a few things you can check out. I think the 2002 are cool, especially for the rocky sound...and if you like them...take them.

another option to check out would be Sabian AAX, there are cool models in this line, they`ve got a good modern sound.
