I have a 14" bottom hi-hat (I think) Turkish made Zildjian cymbal that I've been thinking of selling on ebay. I was wondering if anyone knows what it might be worth? It has a Made in Turkey stamping with the crescent moon and star, K Zildjian Istanbul markings. I'll post a pic tonight when I get home.

Slow down, don't sell that yet. Tell us more about it. Sounds like you might have a vintage K Zildjian Istanbul cymbal. Can you get a picture of it? And also, do you have a digital scale that might be able to give you a detailed weight (in ounces or grams)?
Provide some of this info, and I can give you a pretty good value estimate.

Thanks Fooleeze, I won't sell it just yet. I will post a pic for sure tonight, and bring it to work tomorrow to weigh it.

Here's some pics, I hope you can make out the stamping. It's definately a bottom hi-hat cymbal because there is an indentation on the bell from the hi-hat washer.http://new.photos.yahoo.com/gregmen@sbcglobal.net/album/576460762357483446

Well, that's certainly a vintage K Zildjian Istanbul. Estimating the value could be tough. It will vary based on weight (do you know the gram or oz. weight yet?) as well as the condition.
If it is a lighter-weight (like less than 900 grams or so), smooth edges, round center hole, no cracks (edge, bow, bell, center hole), and the original signature is still on the underside of the bell, I think it could be worth around $250 - $300 or possibly more if the cymbal is great.
If it is a heavier cymbal (over 1000 grams or so), maybe some dents on the edges, slight keyholing in the center hole, and no original signature, it may be worth around $125 - $175.
If we're talking about cracks, severe dents, and this thing is a man-hole cover (like 1600 grams or more), then your value will drop even more.

OK, so I weighed the cymbal this morning and it's 1lb 15oz. It only has one very slight ding on the edge. No keyholing, no signature.
1lb 15oz = 879 grams

I think you're probably looking at around $200 - $250 or a little more for that one. Most hihat pairs sell for around $400 - $600. A lot of times people are looking for a good match for their own 14s.
So if you go eBay, make sure you take good pictures, call out any defects (like the small edge dent), and make sure your title includes "Vintage Zildjian K Istanbul 14" Hi Hat / Crash Cymbal". A lot of people forget 'vintage' or 'cymbal' and these words do help. I'm also assuming that you have some eBay experience with good feedback, as that will affect the outcome as well.
Good luck, and feel free to contact me if you want anymore direction / advice.

That's a nice weight. If you still have this in a month or so I might be interested.
