Hey guys, I need some help. Which bass pedal would be better. Price cant really be debated, because sonor is 5 dollars more. I have a double bass set and im gonna buy two of either of them. Im mainly pushing for speed, in which im in a metal band. I've heard that Thomas Lang and Joey Jordison use the sonor. Which would be better? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Peace

i would say the powershifter, because it feels great and its pretty much infinitely adjustable. you also get a 4 way beater, so you can get punch and depth for rock and you can just switch the beater around and get more attack for the double bass you will be playing most of the time.

alright, thank you. That will be the pedal im getting, unless some one contridicts your statement, ( i feel like using big words today : ) ) I was gonna go with powershifter at first but then saw how some of the pros use the sonor.

well, it`s difficult but I`d go for the Sonor Giant Step line. Thomas Lang uses those and I also tried those. Let`s say it like this: I feel much better on the Sonor. Much better.

...check both out in a music store! oh, and if you wanna have another beater, you can buy the beater extra.

The setting of the spring does matter pretty much. I`m pretty sure...yeah, it`ll feel same or at least similar.

but you should seriously check them out before you buy one.

I'm a huge Sonor fan, but I would go with the Pearl Powershifter, simply based on the availability of parts down the road. I have tons of Sonor gear, but have often had to wait for months for new parts etc.

The Powershifter, and its component parts are available in nearly any major musical instrument outlet in the USA.

I have played both pedals, and they are comparable as to feel and adjustability.

Lang and Jordison get their sound more form incredible skills and technique, and not so much from the gear they choose.

Those guys could play kick drum with a hydraulic screen door closer and get a better sound than most of us. :)
