View Full Version : Dave Weckl Tabbing
Anyone up to tab a dave weckl groove?
I can't for the life of me figure out what on earth this drum monster is doing.
A few friends of mine are urging me to try 'Tower of Inspiration' on his Master Plan CD.
Anyone got the groove for this?

Try getting a computer program that slows down the groove without changing pitch. There are a few good ones out there.

I use Audacity, http://audacity.sourceforge.net/download/
It's a nice and free Opensource-Program with many basic and some advanced functions... as well as changing tempo without affecting the pitch.

Sorry it took a day or so to respond, but try the program Trancribe! by Seventh String Software. The audio quality is better than some other programs of it's type.
Hope this helps,
Jeff

Aha... but Trancribe seems to have a commercial licence...
Interesting would be freeware stuff... at least to me as a poor student ;)

There are lots of variations, but I think these are the two main grooves:http://href.hu/x/21qb

That guy in the video is actually on this forum. It's Shogun_warrior32, and from what I've seen, he seems like a hardcore Weckl fan, so maybe you could talk to him...

I use Adobe Audition for slowing stuff down. Versatile program, but not especially cheap...

WOW!!... this is hilarious!... I'm being used as a tabbing reference and i swear to God I don't know the first thing about reading music... i was asked something similar in another thread about how i "transcribed" one of his tunes i jammed to in a video... i was trying to think of an intelligent way of saying.. well.. my steering wheel is are the toms.. my gas pedal is the bass drum..the horn is the snare.. and my cross hanging from my mirror is my cymbal.. i learn basically by just listening and learning part by part by ear. I've always wanted to learn to read music or tabs or whatever but never really had the patience i guess. Yes , I am a pretty hardcore Weckl fan and Tower of Inspiration is one of my all time favs... but that's just it.. being such a fan results in his cd's always in my car radio ..burning into my head.
Too weird man....
