This kit has been in limited availability for about 6 months. Guitar center would be your best bet. No other sizes are available. It is a very smoking kit.

i don't know which snare you're talking about. I own both the 14 and the 12 inch little squealer, along with the pig lite and NEVER have tuning issues.

if the little squealer snare is any reflection on the rest of that set, that thing has got to be totally amazing. beautiful drums.

iv played a little sqealer and it sounded quality. the tuning thing i'v never heard of maybe just some drums turn out differently.

It does sound great, but if you like to do rim shots, this isn't the snare for you. It detunes itself very easily. The lugs don't grab the rim enough I guess, so I have to retune the drum after every performance. However that's a small sacrifice for a great sounding snare.

I have been to the Pork Pie shop in the San Fernando Valley. They are very cool people and make a great product.

I just bought this kit at the guitar center near my house. 1300$ after tax but i say its damn worth it. Mine doesn't have the black lugs or anything, mine are silver powder coated.
Left the stock heads on all but the bass drum and this thing isXXXXXXXXXXXxsick. I changed the head on my snare to a clear remo, liked the sound but it was an old head so i put the one that came with it back on it because it looked better lol. Plus the guy threw in "free" hard drum cases. He tried selling me the shit soft ones but I said hell no not with the finish on this kit- He was having a competition to see who could sell the most drum kits in the area and he was winning thats why I ended up getting the cases, if I bought the drums yesterday instead of today which i was planning on doing.

Anyway this is a great kit i can't wait to record on the thing

Just played a gig over the weekend, after practicing on it the week before and not playing it again until this weekend I noticed that some of the lugs on the bottom of the snare came loose. I was like wtf tuned them up and they haven't slipped again but I'm sure they will. I emailed pork pie and they told me to buy Lug-Locks. Plastic things you put on your tension rods. Shits shoulda came free for spending that kinda cake on these drums.

I am not trying to play Daddy, but they really frown upon profanity on this site. I would tone it down if I were you.

I just made my own lug locks. Found some scrap plastic, cut it into a square, drilled a hole in it just big enough so it takes some pressure to push down over the tension rod. Works fine.

Man... talk about resurrecting an old thread...

anyway, with all this little squaler kit talk, here's something for you.

I guess you could call it the "big papa" or the "big shouter"(get it, little squaler./big shouter... haha hahaha, cough, cough... ahem... anyway... :-P)

what type of plastic did you use to create them? looks like PVC pipe? I'm interested in doing the same thing, would be a great help if you could tell me what you used.

Sorry for the swearing in the other responses, just a little too excited about my new kit lol.

I bought these babies a week ago as an early birthday present for myself
Man, am I happy that i did
I was looking at Ddrum AMX's
but GC didn't have them
the salesman tried to convince me that the Ddrum Defiant was the way to go. "6 drums! for less money! ITS BETTER!"
Rest assured, I decided that 6 Drums was not better if the quality was lacking, so i decided to check out the pork pies
They are black satin with silver powder coated hardware, which i can't seem to find anywhere, but they look pretty sharp.
They sounded great from the start, but the stock heads don't do them justice. Put some Remo pinstripes on, and they sound pretty sharp. The hardware on the toms is pretty solid, especially on the floor tom. Much better than most hardware i had seen before

it was a big jump for me purchasing these, because my last set was a vintage 1970's rogers holiday kit
and I know i'll be kicking myself for selling it
but I gotta say, these pork pies are pretty wonderful, and I have no complaints. Perfect sizes, awesome tone, and a pretty good price, and the quality is assured with the name, which is more to be said about most Taiwanese drums

I have 3 Pork Pie snares and love them all.

The 5 x 13 and 6 x 13 maples both loosen up a bit around the rimshot area but I use Lug Locks to hold the tuning. I agree with one of the posters who said that having a great sounding snare drum is worth it. It may be because the shells are very thin and resonant.

FWIW: I love these PP snares but I also love my 5.5 x 13 Mapex Phosphor Bronze snare. Guess what? It detunes as well. I feel the same way about this snare as the Porkers. Lug Locks are a small price to have killer snare sounds.

I haven't played the the Li'l Squealer sets but every other Pork Pie set that I've played sounded wonderful. Musical and full of body.

Enjoy the set and keep good heads on it.

I have the 12X5 and the 13X7 PP lil' Squealer snares and I ALWAYS get compliments when I use either. If the set is anything like the snares, dude you are in business!!!!!!

Here's a hot tip. I bought this kit 2nd hand a couple of weeks ago. The guy I bought it off had changed the snare to a 40 strand job, and it is quite simply the sweetest sounding snare drum I've EVER played!
