any thoughts on a pair of crashes to fit with an A custom 20" crash (used as a crash ride)... fancy trying something new, they must be big crashes 18" upwards and need to be cutting but not too thick....in the lines of A custom AAX or sigs...range.. i have HHXplosions at the mo, and love them ,, but i fancy something different..Genre will be Rock, funk, metal..

I would say try the AAXplosion line. They ARE loud and cutting. The 18" sounds like it would suite you real good. You can listen to them at the Sabian site and it will give you somewhat of an idea

Get ahold of Saluda (www.saludacymbals.com) and trade them in for custom made - hand hammered crashes tuned to YOUR liking! No funny business, .....do a search and read up on these cymbals, VERY VERY NICE!!!!! You can probably get 2 crashes for your trade ins and only very few $$ !

I second that choice, AAXplosion are thin and like their name, make an explosion when hitted...

I have a 19" AAX Xplosion and its incredible.. Fast and thin but full bodied.
I play a couple of Vaults and this fits in well.

you gotta hear the saludas. They make thin and LOUD crash cymbals. The 15" is a bit louder than my 18" zildjian

Paiste giant beats, signature full crashes, 2002 thin, or regular.

All great cymbals!

How about a Zildjian 19" Thin Crash from the Avedis or "A" line? The different hammering would make for a nice contrast!

As mentioned by Swing, try the Masterwork cymbals. I just got a 16 and 17 inch crash and they are very loud. I was happily surprized to hear them. Try the website for actual sound bytes and give Erik a call or email him. He will do you right. He also takes trades.
