Well ive seen one,an ive read lots of reviews. The looks are just amazing, some of best looing snares ive ever seen, but of course they will have limited appeal for being so out there so to speak. In other words it mite not fit in wiv a jazz set up :p as for sounds i havent heard but jus regurgitatin reviews tey are amazing and stunning with great sensitivity. The only downfalls the mags ad is price,as they are very pricey for what are metal shells. But id av one if wa rich :D

i laughed out loud when i saw it for the first time. tama obviously had some kind of

dungeons and dragons influence while coming up with that line. not my thing at all.

For some reason, I seem to remember reading it was a Lord of the Rings influence actually.

My prefered one is the Praetorian then the second one's Masai closely followed by the Spartan and finally the Valkyrie. :-)

As a big lord of the rings fan...I like the look, but I don't think they are anything special, and I they are way too expensive IMO.

Actaully, I think they found that snare drum in the village on skull island.

This new line from Tama has peaked my interests. Anyone have any experience with them? I'm interested in the bubinga model and the maple. Can anyone give me an idea of how they will differ in sound?

Well, I havn`t tried it soooo intensivly yet, but when I just tried them I wasn`t that impressed. I don`t know why, the sound was just not so great...

A new snare drum I would rather recommend is the Sonor SQ2...rarrr, sexy.

The Tama has a pretty cool sound for heavier stuff though...but even then i would go for another one.

I heard the metal one (not sure of its "code" name or material it was made of), and it was a BEAST. The thing sounded huge. Sorry, thats all the info I have.

If you go to the Tama website they have sound bytes of all four Warlord models. Give it a look-see.

I played on the Masai snare today. It had a sweet sound, but it wasn't anything too too special, considering the exuberant pricetag. If you find one of these and really, really like it, my advice is to wait a while until these go down in price -- they're not worth the $700+ price tag.

What if I can get one for 500 bucks?

In drum magazine it said that the spartan didnt have a seamless metal shell and the seam wasnt under a lug and was pretty visible and I guess you guys dont think the sound is a $600 dollar snare, so your paying $200-$300 for some fancy lugs, no Thanks.

Im not one for that sort of thing it's prob no better than a standard. You pay for the lugs, and finish. Although my current kit is'nt natural finish, my next kit defo will be.
