I´m so sorry if I´m bothering you guys with this topic. It must be the third time I´m asking about finger tapping on Traditional Grip. The 1st time I saw this kind of finger control was watching a video about Art Verdi and the name of the video was "Art Verdi´s finger tehcnique". It was a very short video of him showing the finger technique on Trad and I´ve gotta say that he´s RAELLY FAST :). Later I saw a very good video of Tim Waterson on YouTube.com showing the finger tapping on Trad.
But the thing is that he does the finger tapping on Trad with the palm of his hand facing the drum hand while Art Verdi´s tapping remained the hand position on Trad (which is the palm of the hand facing us)
Anyone please know where I can learn how to execute this technique?
Because I can´t tap the stick on traditional grip like Art Verdi does...
If you know any video... better ;)
Thanks guys and sorry about the repetition of this topic
Peace

Dave Weckl explained it perfectly on his DVD ''Back to basic''.
I hope that it will help you.

Art Verdi has a video out on this
Check his site www.artverdi.com
I think it's called practicing correctly

Before you try this, are you sure you don't need to focus on singles and doubles still? There's no way that you've "finished" doubles yet, and I bet you Tim and Art already had that stuff completely down before figuring this stuff out. It's not the kind of thing that will help you if your other stuff isn't together.

Oh! dude, yeah you´re right and I´m not finished with my doubles ;)
And still I´m not with a hurry to learn the finger tapping technique like Art Verdi does... I just want to know where I can learn it when when I´m ready ;)

Glad you like the video clip
Art is the master on Finger technique and you can get a lot of benefit from the lessons on his site.
I have to use 2 or 3 fingers just to play at moderate Art Verdi tempos.LOL

I think Dave Weckl gives the best explaination of this technique
I saw his back to basics video and it's awesome
Check out some of the groove patterns he plays also

Steve Smith doesn't really use a finger technique
He plays more like a accented Moeller

More of Art's tech. Just pay close attention to the postioning of his hand and fingers. It's just going to take practice. By practice, I mean years of practice.

Drumskillz video won't play
Are you sure? It works fine for me. Are you waiting long enough for it to download to your pc? I do not have streaming video capability currently so you'll have to wait until the file completely downloads. Just click the video and wait a few minutes and it will play eventually. Sorry about the inconvenience.
