Cool, another reason to like Neil, he rides a motorcycle.
Eddie Trunk reminds me of Chris Farley on SNL doing those interviews.... (Chris)--Remember in the song limelight you wrote all the worlds indeed a stage and we are merely players, performers and portrayers??? (Neil)---Yes, (Chris)----is that true??

Thanks for the links Nutha.
Yeah, Eddie doesn't have the right intensity to give a good interview. I'm sure Neil would have liked much more being interviewed by Lynn. I know I would.

I am glad to see this. Neil likely realised the difference that appearances like this can make in book sales.

yeah its a cool video, i saw it 1-2 weeks ago a day or 2 after it came out. Really shocked me that neil would do an interview on tv like that (even if alot of it was on his book and not his drumming). But still, interesting to watch. Makes me wanna read his book.
I belive neil peart was on politcally incorrect at one point so do a search for that if you're interested.

Wow. Thanks for the info. I just checked it out. Wasn't it weird that the first segment is about the "dumbing down" of pop culture, yet they almost mocked Neil when he said something intelligent.

Yeah, that author (female) also sounded like she contradicted him at one point. Instead of saying "easy" Neil used the word "facile" and the panel stopped. "Whoa...facile..."

I, too, will read the new Peart book. However, the Trunk interview was a tad boring and rehased a lot of old news (Peart's aversion to fans, etc.)
Eddie's interviewing skills lack enthusiasm and depth. He doesn't really dig too deep; more of a "less follow the press release and bio" kind of journalist.

Very cool footage.
But I have one question: how did Neil get my hairline?
Hmmm. Was he a milkman in my 'hood when I was minus 1?

Hmmm Anduin is Canadian, Neil is from Toronto....they both play the drums and have an identical hairline....maybe that milkman made his rounds...

Well I bumped into Geddy Lee on the street* a couple of years ago, so I wouldn't rule out meeting Neil!
* Literally: it was night on a busy sidewalk downtown. We collided. I looked up, and by the time I made the positive ID he was moving on. I'd heard he lives just a few blocks away, so it wasn't a huge surprise.

So, that was in the subdivisions, and Geddy was in a Ru....ok, bad pun. But that's still a pretty cool--if inadvertent brush with greatness.

Excellent post of that Neil Peart interview from VH1! Thanks again, Nutha! It was just great to see and hear him interviewed, 'cause we all know how much he shys away from media attention and the "limelight". Hee...hee.. just a little pun there. Anyway, nice job. Play On!

That was great thanks for the link, I do not have cable tv.
What a great real person Neil is.
I totally respect him even more then I did as just a musician.
I am really kicking myself now for not meeting him back in the late 80's.
One day I will shake his hand.
His hair line looks fine to me for his age lol.

Oh man, the 2nd video doesn't work...that's cold, but I enjoy how people say his name wrong. I'll admit that I just go with it and say it wrong just so I don't have to see people act like i'm the dumb one and that i'm saying it wrong.

indeed peart is a good writer, i read two of his books and found them to be a little dry, but if your into travelogues, then there great. im sure when hes writing he stares with glassy eyes and defies the empty page, but at least now he probably realizes he can only go the way the wind blows. his lyric writing and drumming far exceed his book writing in my opinion, but hes better than me in all three!!! also....I THINK HES GOIN BALD!!!
