Ditty is a great little minute-long chop-blaster.

And what do you think about the brick background? Thats a full-wall fireplace in my bedroom. I might use it as the background for some of the dvd.

Pfpfpfttt!
Nothing to it. I can do that with my feet.......

Good job! Got a transcript? I'd love to hear it on a real snare.

I'll transcribe it while I'm watching this zombie movie. Ditty is almost as hard to write out as it is to play.
Zombies rule. I just like the word zombie. I'm gonna make a zombie movie one day.

That's great stuff. I'd also like to see a transcription.
I enjoy making that kind of stuff up when I'm on a pad, just seemingly random rudimental beats, etc. That stuff can sound really cool.

You certainly don't look like it's something hard to play! WOW,....that's something else!

Sloppy, I know, but I had other things on my mind while I was writing..... like zombies....
Enjoy
PS - I cant remember who wrote this originally, it would probably be wise to give him some credit.

It's way easier to trust someone's teaching methods if they have awesome technique. I mean that as a compliment.

Ok... Looking back at it while listening to you play it, it doesn't actually seem to be that hard! I'm sure if I started out slowly enough, and took some time figuring out the odd-time parts, I could have it down in a week or so. In any case, though, it's a wicked cool piece.

Hey nice drumming and videos. How many hours a day do (or did) you practice? How long you been playing?

Great performance...
But I want to see you playing with a little acoustic kit in a small jazz club !
Your technique is great but music is not technique and performance !

That was pretty awesome. Your facial expressions made it much better though, hehe.
Just surfed your website (well-designed too, by the way) and I saw this!

You met Devin Townsend?! Agh, you lucky jerk! Hah, Devin Townsend is probably my favorite artist...ever. Great drumming, good web design, good taste in music...damn.

Is that a different variation of Ditty? I've seen the backsticking added in certain places (in some cases, exactly where you did). Here's the snare transcription of it from 1995, I'm 99% positive BD has never deviated from it aside from the 3 shots in the 15/16 bar, which were later changed to 2 shots. You'll notice a bunch of different stickings. Nice job though, Derrick :)
