Thanks for the kind words! I got the kit for just $1062.00 with tax. That includes the shells, two cymbal stands, snare stand, hi-hat stand and a pedal. I didn't keep the pedal on the kit but it is nice pedal. It was a great deal and they sound great. I am very happy with them. Thanks again!

That ludwig looks hot. Great setup too, I love three up/two down kits in those dimensions.

That is one gorgeous green finish! I wish I could've test driven a Mapex when I was shopping around. Awesome cymbal selection too!

If you price out the shells only it is actually more expensive. I know because I tried. The original configuration for the M Birch Fusionease is 8x8,10x8,12x9,14x14, 22x18 bass drum and 14x5.5 snare plus all the hardware. I added the 16" floor tom and arived at the price I posted. When my sales guy at the drum shop gave me the price I had to ask him if he was sure of that price. It really was a great deal.

Thats cool. I had the chance to get that kit, or, the PDP MX Emerald Fade, which looks like yours with out the glossy finish. So I went with PDP. Had I gotten the MAPEX I would have got the 6 for 5 deal, but, the PDP kit was the dream kit that I wanted for about a year. Here's the kicker, I paid the same amount you did.

yeah, and some people say that mapex is awesome, others say say that they make awful drums...it`s very mixed at all...this makes me even more curious, I maybe played one time on a Mapex...can`t remember very well.

Thanks for the kind words. As far as the sound of the kit...funny you should ask... I just put new Evans EC2 Clears on the kit today. Wow! What a difference that made. When I first got the set I new I would be putting new heads on it soon but I stuck with remo 1 ply heads that came on the set and I was enjoying the sound. Then I put some G2 coated heads on it and hated the sound. Turns out the EC2's are the head for this kit (for my ear anyway). They sound so warm and focused with just the right amount of ring. I am glad I went with the birch kit I really like the sound!

Congrats on the new kit. You will be very pleased. I was blown away by the color when I walked in to pick them up. No catalog or pictures do the finish justice. Let me know what you think when you get them. Have fun with them!!

Thank you so much for the kind words. The set is about 2 months old now and I am still soooo excited about it. I do feel like I made the right decision going with Mapex. I appreciate your comments!!

Absolutely beautiful set of drums you have there. I once owned a Mapex Mars Pro Maple kit and still to this day regret selling it. That kit was the best sounding kit I ever owned. I was young and dumb. Hang on to those beautys. That is one fine instrument you own there.

Dude i love your kit, im thinking of getting the exact same kit but different cymbals, "do you find it hard to play the splash when its next to your 16 floor tom"?

"do you find it hard to play the splash when its next to your 16 floor tom"?

Thanks! To answer your question....yes. I don't have it there anymore. My whole set up has changed since then. I am playing two up two down now and the splash is right between my upper toms now. I have stripped a few cymbals off the kit to open things up a bit. If you get this kit you will be pleased. I really like the hardware too. Good luck to you!

Love the kit dude! Looks strangely familiar to me :) I am talking a Mapex A&R rep right now about getting an Orion in those same colors or in the Blue fade color that they just came out with recently.

Thanks for the compliment. Have you seen the Saturn series with the green sparkle burst.....I love that kit so much. I played it the other day and the maple/walnut shells sound soooo sweet. Have you played a Saturn? I personally like the sound of them over the Orions. http://www.harmony-central.com/ProductImages/Large/000009006.jpg . Check out that link if you would like to see that new finish. Have a good one!!
