That is so great man I love the music very tight and sweet.
By the way in the beginning how do you keep that snare going (sounds fast) while on the hi hat ?
Amelczer
06-03-2006, 05:53 PM
It's just singles between the hat and a 10" snare, right hand on hat and left on snare

I really, really enjoyed that. Are you still with this band then? I much prefer junglish/electronic/ whatever with acoustic drums.

I liked it how it was like DnB but had the trumpet going which almost gave it a hip-hop feel.

Thank you for the positivity.
And to answer Topcat's question, unfortunately no, the band no longer exists.
I have some more tunes if you'd like to hear 'em, but they cover other syles of music like latin, bossa, reggae and joropo.

yes yes :) very nice :) what kind of snare are you using?
Amelczer
06-06-2006, 05:25 PM
It's a 10" Yamaha stage custom
It's just singles between the hat and a 10" snare, right hand on hat and left on snare
were you playing with a drum loop?
i hear some electric drum sound at the beginning
or you were using your left foot to do that?

I like it but what's the tapping-like sound in the beginning and how did you record it.
Amelczer
06-12-2006, 10:44 PM
There's a loop underneath it all, but it's not a drum loop it's electronic percusion so i could use it as a click track, it ended up sounding cool so we kept it, but the drums are all live

I`m listening to it one more time...it is really a great tune and I`m really interested in Jungle and DnB in the last time...so what do you play in the beginning? Can give me the hand setting please? Sounds VERY fast and so cool...

Hey Karl, i'm flattered you like my playing thanks for the positive comments. The begining is just 16ths between hh and a 10 snare, right hand hat, left hand snare, that's it nothing more to it and it sounds cool, i actually stole that lick from listening to a squarepusher album called hard normal daddy, dont remember which track, i think it's beep street.

That first tune is totally SIQ! I never heard anybody do that acoustically -- tell about that kind of music and rhythm. What are you thinking and feeling when you do it? All the instruments work well together, too.

What am i thinking and feeling?, it's hard to say, i guess you have to go out to clubs and listen and dance to the music and have a great time, and then try to recreate that feeling while youre playing.

I love the melodic sound you guys had. Very solid and smooth. Also i loved the open close hihat figures you do, very tasteful! A quick couple questions though:
How many members were in the band?
Could you describe your set? (guessing stage custome advantage? which i also own)

That was really nice and tastey...very JoJo-ish type of groove...

Hmmm... lets see, the set i used was a set i bough from my drum teacher that he had put together himself from various other sets he had had, the set is:
18 Tama rockstar dx kick
14 Pearl export floor tom
12 Pearl session series tom
10 Pear world series tom
13 Tama (i've been told it's an artstar, but i really dont know since it didnt say anything but tama on it) Snare
10 yamaha stage custom snare
All toms are fitted with R.I.M.S. and suspended from the stands.
As for cymbals:
22 Paiste Alpha ride
18 Avedis Zildjian crash
14 Bosphorus china
14 Avedis Zildjian mastersound hats
8 avedis splash
And that yellow Mapex pedal... hahahahahahaha.

Damn, I can't listen to any stuff hosted on Putfile - don't know if it's a Mac thing, or perhaps the Safari browser - but the track just won't download. And I'd really like to hear your music. Is there any other way? Does your band have a site?

well, i just moved to spain, and had to sell my drums so i've been focusing on my hands, so i bought me a realfeel pad and Johnny Rabb's 30 days to better hands video, and well i'm 2 weeks into it and it really works, especially my left hand, i feel now i have tons of control and even some of those esoteric moeller whip moves are starting to come together. Maybe i'll record a video of myself playing the pad so you guys can critique my technique, but i dunno if you'd be interested so... Should i record and post that?

Just been to your Myspace site. Is "borrador" a Venezualen movie that you did the music for? I don't understand any Spanish, but the trailer seems pretty cool. Your music rocks too.
Amelczer
10-20-2006, 05:42 PM
Yeah, Borrador is a Venezuelan film in which we have 3 songs on the soundtrack, not bad considering we only have 4 recorded songs!, one of them ended up being the track which acompanied the trailer as you can see in the video in our myspace, it's a good movie although i doubt youll never get to see it cause venezuelan movies dont get around much, not even in Venezuela!.
