This is from one song I've just about finished ... mostly just to show off the drum sound, its not exactly flashy playing or anything. It was recorded with the Earthworks mics and a Rode K2 as a room mic (going through an avalon pre) ... etc etc

this is a bit of the second verse ... With one guitar track the bass track along with it. There's another guitar part, horn lines, and probably some pads going on underneath that I didn't include.

edit: in case you haven't figured it out, that samba solo is a million years old and was done on an electronic kit. The new sample is the one done on my DW kit.

Oh yeah and make sure you listen to it hi-fi.

I dig it man. The snare's nice and behind.... That solid "thop" you get just enhances the feel. Nice drumming, Dimitri.

Wow, dude that's cool. I liked your samba solo, too.

Your drums sound good, almost too good, like they are electonic. Maybe it's cause you have really nice recording gear. I think we have different tastes in snare sound.

But my taste doesn't prevent me from thinking that ought to be a great song when complete.

Hey man that's some great stuff. Answered all my questions about those microphones. Those drums sound great and the playing is of course, great. Is the album going to be on commercial release?

Are you Shure (get it?) that you weren't hitting your V drums? If not then I guess this is a compliment rather than an inquisition, lol.

Wow, very cool. I do like the snare sound (tried all the moongel last night on my snare and couldn't get it to sound right for me) :)

I love the open hi-hat notes you're sticking in the groove, it definately adds an off feel to what is really a basic groove. Very nice :)

Thats a chill song, I love it. That samba solo had to have been on the V Drums, sounded too fake. Cool though, keep up the good work!
