Hey everyone! This is my Sonor Delite kit. This kit has a nice little history behind it. It is a Steve Smith clinic kit. He used it in 2004 I believe when he came to Sioux Falls. The drums consist of:
8x8, 10x8, and 12x9 rack toms
14x14 and 16x16 floor toms
14x5 snare
20x17 bass drum
Zildjian Cymbals:
21" K Custom Special Dry Ride
20" K Ride (with 6 sizzles)
17" and 18" A Custom Fast Crashes
14" K Top with 14" A Mastersound bottom hi-hats
I occasionally use my 10" ZBT splash not shown in the picture.
This is basically a Steve Smith replica kit. I really enjoy this kit and receive many nice comments on my kit and the way it sounds. I feel blessed to have such a kit!

Well it technically wasn't Smith's personall kit, it was just a kit that he played on for a clinic. The kit was ordered through the local music store. A few months later the kit was still there and I was able to save enough money and buy the kit.

Hello Marc (Tambian89),
I suggest you appologise to danielheier immediately!!! That ain't no wrap my friend, that is a beautiful Birdseye Maple Lacquer finish; The official title is 'Birdseye Cherry'. I'm only messing about, you don't need to apologise really! LOL
Those kits have a really tight grain. Superb kit...

Great kit. Those are close to the sizes I want. That kit should give you a lot of choices and versatility. The finish looks awesome too!

I love the 8" tom. I don't use it a whole lot, but its nice to have the extra tone, its high pitched, but if your playin a latin piece, its awesome for that timbale like sound. It also makes for great accents. It may be something you don't need, but it goes very well with the kit, and once you get one, its something you fall in love with and dont want to give up. Thanks everyone for the nice comments on my kit!

How does the 20" sound with sizzles?
It sounds good, really good, but 6 rivets can be too much, I think I may take some sizzles, out. The best sizzle rides I have heard have only 1 rivet!! If i were to order that cymbal again, i probably would have done the cluster of 3. I am still very happy with it though!!

I was going to ask if you were influenced by Steve Smith, until I read the rest of your post ;-)
I would LOVE to have that kit. I like your cymbal choice too. I had my A Mastersound bottoms on my 14K regular top and didn't like it at all. I was amazed at how different it made the Ks sound. I would have never guessed the bottom hat was so important to the overall sound of the hats.

Did the easy snap on lugs on the cymbal stands come with them or did you buy them? Sonor makes a certain kind that is only made for Sonor stands but I don't know where to buy them

The snap ons for the cymbal stands came with them. I am sure you can order some from a local music store, or check out www.drummaker.com I believe, maybe its drumaker.com, either way, check it out. They have a bunch of little hardware and stuff you can order for fairly cheap! Thanks for the nice comments on my kit everyone!

hey,
nice kit man, i love Sonor and I am playing a Sonor kit too. Mine is a 3005 Kit and it sounds sooooo great. Becuase of that i don't wanna know how your kits sound like...must be crazy ^^
The setup is very clean...i guess it would look cooler if you place the smallest tom (i guess it is an 8") between the 12" tomtom and 14" floortom...10,12,8,14,16
Just an idea. I will do this if i get my 8" tom ;)
Nice
