This is my Yamaha Stage Custom Advantage in Cranberry Red. I've had this kit for 2 years last x-mas. Sorry for the photo quality but i had to scale down the photos a good bit for them to be accepted.

So...the specs!

It is a fusion sized kit -

Drums

10x9 and 12x10 rack toms.
14x12 floor tom.
14x5 Ludwig Black Beauty Snare Drum (my baby lol).

Cymbals

Ziljdjian K - 14" Hats, 16" Thin Dark Crash, 16" Custom Dark Crash, 20" Heavy Ride.
Wuhan - 10" S Series Splash, 16" China.
Ufip - 11" Class Series Splash (not shown, swap between the two splashes alot)

Hardware/Sticks/Heads

Sonor Double Bass Pedal.
Mostly all Yamaha hardware.

I am currently using...
Evans EC2s on all my tom batters, 1 ply remos on reso.
Remo Coated Ambassador on snare, Ludwig 1 ply on reso.

I usually use Vic Firth sticks mostly, just now between 5A and Thomas Lang sig (I know crazy difference, but for different types of music lol!)

I think thats most things described, if you want to know anything else just let me know! Thanks!

I like the cymbals and I ESPECIALLY love the snare.

I always think Yamaha make absolutely top end products. They're not for everyone, but even the lower-end kits look stunningly well made. I was in a drum shop in London the other day (Denmark Street) looked at a Yamaha and thought 'wow, this looks great' then saw 'Stage Custom' and was even more surprised. Excellent, excellent kits.

Yeah the kit is not completly top line but it is such a great preformer for the expenses. they are seriously great kits. even though i would happily upgrade to a dw any day lol! the snare is the best thing about the kit it is amazing, at any tuning. Yeah i actually bought the two wuhans together i was only going for a china but i decided to get a deal with a splash, and it turned out i was more impressed with the splash, it sounds amazing for all the cost!! the china is good too, very trashy (i know its supposed to be but this is 'extra' trashy i would say and pretty loud. my cymbals play off each other very well, the thin dark on the left just a bit higher pitched making a great combination even though they are the same sizes.

I have both the 16" and 12" wuhan chinas, and they really are great cymbals. I can't say i'm a big fan of wuhan generally, but the chinas: ooh, wouldn't change them for anything in the world...

Yeah when i ordered mine, i wasnt expecting alot, but boy i was surprised!! they cost so cheap aswel!! I want to try out a sabian china i liek the sound of them, might get replaced by that certainly, but my splash no way! its great.

Uh huh maybe its not what you were meaning but i have my cymbals fairly high, inspired by thomas lang. it gives much more room for tom fills. plus for my naturally feels better up there and at that angle.

Sorry posted then saw your comment (the one above this one). Yeah i love my Ks they sound great together. Really blend in with each other especially my crashes.

Hey that's a great kit! You replaced the one really weak part (the steel snare that comes with it).

The toms are adequate, but then again, the price is low. A very good kit though! (I had the same one, but with the standard lugs in the latest models --not neauvou-- ).

I bet those EC2s really help give the toms some oomph!

Yeah it really is great value for money, uh huh good guess, the skins are great!!! do exactly that!

The snare was definatly the weak part as you knew, very thin wooden shell just gave a sort of bad sound, but i cranked it up once and it sounded alright, but absoloutly nothing compared to my black beauty!!!

Great looking kit. Looks like that 14x12 is a hanging tom? Was it ever a floor tom? How do you like the EC2 on that 14x12?

Again, nice kit (and color).

Thanks very much. If you mean floor tom by having legs, no it never did. the EC2s are without doubt the best skins iv used. yes all the great things said about them are certainly true.

go to my bands myspace, and its shindig on the rooftops that has that snare in it, not the best recording, but i am recording very soon so will post them in ASAP. the sticker is there because of a certain accident...lol

Thought I'd update this thread and show you how my kit is looking right now.

The first 2 photos are from a gig I played around a month ago in a hotel with my progressive/metal/rock band. The place was quite small, so no overheads were needed, and in the end the snare mic ended up being swithced off due to how loud it was being played in such a small venue!!

Updates are the throne, which was not coping after two years, so I went ahead and got a roc n soc which rules!! soooo sturdy!! Also now play with my two splashes and have added in a LP block.

Hoping to purchase a new kit around xmas time, fingers crossed!!

The wuhan china is VERY loud and trashy, it's just about the sort of sound I'm looking for...sounds pretty good in recordings!
