Peter Schmidlin, was born and raised in Basel, Switzerland. He started playing drums at 14 and was soon a professional musician playing with many great jazzmen. In 1988, he decided to produce jazz music and founded the TCB label. His first productions were compilations LP of a Swiss radio show, where he was playing in the house rhythm section, and were famous American jazz musicians were invited... then he continued producing Swiss jazz musicians... and today, TCB label has become an international independent jazz label. Peter Schmidlin continues playing a lot, and especially in a trio named Cojazz, featuring Andy Scherrer.
Seven years of persistence and work, have enable him, with the help of the SUISA, to program a serie of jazz concerts during the Midem, in Cannes. And since two years, the Swiss Montreux Jazz Club at the Carlton Jazz Club has been very successful.
