Linear Patterns for Funk, Fusion, Jazz & more

The term "linear, with respect to drumming, means there are no unisons (no two instruments on the drum kit are struck at the same time).

The unaccented snare notes should be played softly. The accented snare notes may be played as rimshots. All of these patterns should be played using double-strokes in the sticking.

Unless otherwise indicated, the right hand should play the hi-hat and the left hand, the snare drum.
